No, they are two different things. Fire demons produce fire. Flame demons produce both flames (as in insults) and flames (as in fire).

The flame demon attacks you with Flame Strike. As it hurls abuse and insults at you, it gives out a fireball. The fireball singes some of your clothes. The flaming lowers your self-esteem, but it is dampened slightly by the fact you have earplugs.
