You reply anywhere you like- this is your talk page (which I just checked in on after quite a long time of not checking in on it... my bad). As for the protection level of the user's here... it seems to depend (bear in mind that I'm relatively new here as well) on the user and the article. If the contribution is funny, I can't see many people objecting to it. If you're in doubt, you can always ask the main writer of the piece, or just make your edits and if they don't like it they can always revert it later. I am personally a huge asshole when it comes to contributions to articles I wrote, but that is mainly due to the amount of unfunny shite many people try to pass off as humour or because I am an only child.
