As a parody of the well-known Darwin Awards, green_meklar's Arwen Awards are given to fictional characters who do something stupid enough that they deserve to die (or worse) for it, whether or not they actually do (because whoever was writing it might have decided to let them live anyway out of pity). Mostly, they are a sarcastic, cynical look at what would normally be a willing suspension of disbelief. They are named after Arwen Evenstar from the Lord of the Rings, who earned one herself for sacrificing living forever in order to remain with her mortal lover (Aragorn). A character is allowed to win more than one Arwen Award, and in fact a significant fraction of fictional characters are eligible for Arwen Awards.

Note: Please don't add any new items or change the content of any of the items already in the list. Only edit the page to fix spelling and grammar mistakes. If you have a suggestion for an Arwen Award, mention it in the associated Discussion page and wait for green_meklar to add it to the main article. Don't forget to give evidence; green_meklar might not have actually seen/read/played the movie/play/book/game you're talking about.
