There are two proposals for new Wikia wikis, that I'd like your opinion on.

One is Illogicopedia, which was started on editthis by a couple of regulars here, and plans to be random and strange rather than funny as such. I've rejected this for a while as too close to Uncyc, but now they have active site showing the concept, and some support on the community team. So what do you think?

The other is for Memory-alfa a parody of Memory Alpha. This has some support from the Memory-Alpha community, but what do you think of the idea? Is it too much of a cross over with this wiki?

Thanks for the help -- sannse (talk) 17:10, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

Why does it matter if there are other wikis like Uncyclopedia? We will always be better. I say, let them have their wiki if they want it. -- The Zombiebaron 17:18, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
We're currently discussing whether we're going to take up Wikia's offer at Illogicopedia. Ask Silent Penguin because he submitted the request and has a greater say in this sort of thing. -- Hindleyite Converse?pedia 17:22, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
I'm a bit wary of Illogicopedia, but seeing as we usually reject the more random humor, it shouldn't interfere too much. As for Memory-alfa, that sounds perfectly fine. Maybe Uncyc should have it's own parody... HOMESTAR ME!!! TURTLE ME!!! t o m p k i n s  blah. ﺞوﻦ וףה ՃՄ ண்ஸ ފއހ วอฏม +տ trade websites 17:23, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

The nerds, too. /me looks in mirror. Forget I said that. (As for being O/T, I have no problem with either). Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 19:49, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
Illogicopedia's content would not be welcomed here. I'd invite the guys from memory alpha to join us, but if they insist in having their own wiki I don't see why we should mind.-Asteroid B612B612.jpg (aka Rataube) - Ñ 14:16, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
It's just like some other wiki starting up and concentrating on something specific. Like, oh I don't know.. like an English Food wiki; wikipedia will definitely have some kind of article on English Food. Just like we have articles on Star Trek and have a few articles concentrating on the nonsense side of things; Memory-alfa and Illogicopedia will be specific to those. —Braydie 18:29, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
Englishfoodia? Never! It would clash with my English breakfast (part of this complete cardiac arrest). --The Acceptable Thinking cap small.png Cainad Sacred Chao.png (Fnord) 19:41, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
Recipes that anyone can edit? That sounds dangerous. ("...diced Goatse? That can't be right...") Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 19:43, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Guilty as charged sometimes I just wanna type in silly stuff without thinking about it too hard, or worrying that someone is going to delete the article because it's not "funny enough" or something. Illogicopedia is for that kind of silly messing around that many people mistakenly try to do here. --Nerd42eMailTalkUnMetaWPediah2g2 16:09, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

How does this work?

I've been to Illogicopedia, and I know it was started on editthis.info. Are they planning on moving it to its own domain? Did Wikia contact the Illogicopedia guys first, asking if they wanted to join Wikia? I'm curious because I'm working on my own wiki. --Wehpudicontok--Welcome to Vaporstory! 00:38, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Nah, we asked wikia, and they where hesitant. So we set up at editthis to show that people would want to edit a site devoted to utter nonsense. Illogicopedia is in limbo at the moment between three hosts at the moment, it is currently held at editthis but wikia have desided they want to host us as uncyclopedians have not objections to ?pedia. However I have also set it up on a private host which was there for a sidestep if wiki decided they didn't want us, though at the moment this doesnt have the same features that wikia offer, but it is better than wikia, so pending any objection from the ?pedia community, the private host will be used as a mirror/ backup to wikia and wikia will become the main site that ?pedia will be hosted at.--Sir Silent Penguin Penguin foot.JPG "your site makes no sence" The illusion is complete 15:47, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
